Dr. Zafar ul Islam, Consultant Ophthalmologist of RMI was invited as an international guest faculty to the 15th Meet of Oculoplasty Association of India. The conference was held in Guwahati, Assam from19th to 22nd August 2004.

Dr. Zafar ul Islam acted as chief instructor for the instruction course on fundamental techniques in Oculoplastic Surgery for young Ophthalmologists. He delivered two lectures on grafts and flaps in this course. In the main conference he delivered three presentations on his original research work, which were all appreciated by the participants.

He also had a poster and a video presentation. His poster presentation was awarded the “Best Poster Award” among approximately 40 posters. The topic of the poster presentation was ‘Total Eyelid Reconstruction: Unconventional Approach.’

Dr. Zafar ul Islam also chaired one session and acted as a judge for the juniors’ presentation competition. He was also one of the panellists in the trouble shooting session.

The RMI management congratulates Dr. Zafar ul Islam on his success and wishes him more in the future.
