Dr. Major (R) Ameena Shah was born in Nowshehra, Pakistan on 16th February 1961. She passed her MBBS from Army Medical College Rawalpindi in 1984. She did her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute Rawalpindi. She then worked in different hospitals of Pakistan Army as a Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, initially in the rank of Captain and then as a Major. She did her fellowship in the subject Obstetrics and Gynaecology from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and joined Health Care Centre Peshawar as a Consultant Gynaecologist. Later she left for UK and worked in Queen?s Hospital Burton-upon-Trent Staffordshire in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. After returning from UK she resumed her post as Consultant Gynaecologist in Health Care Centre Peshawar. She is a member of the following Societies - Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

Dr. Ameena Shah has attended a number of meetings and conferences and congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has conducted seminars on Mother and Child Health and has considerable teaching and administrative experience. Her research work was based on Management of Fibroid Uterus and Abdominal Hysterectomy vs Abdominal Mastectomy. She joined RMI on 9th August 2004. Her special field of interest is in Artificial Reproductive Techniques (ART) and her future plan is to work on Artificial Reproductive Techniques. Dr. Ameena also enjoys travelling, reading, gardening and landscaping.
