Dr Muhammad Abdul Azim was born in 1957 in Jhang. He received his initial schooling from his home district, Bhakkar. He joined Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore and passed MBBS in 1981 from Punjab University. After MBBS, he joined Army Medical Corps and served as a doctor in various clinical and administrative designations at various army hospitals and filled medical units. He passed his FCPS in general medicine from College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in 1996. He was then posted to Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology as a Junior Consultant. He passed FCPS in cardiology in 2002 and served in CMH Lahore as Consultant Cardiologist. He joined Rehman Medical Institute as cardiologist in Oct 2002 after retiring from Pak Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is a member of Pakistan Cardiac Society and Pakistan Society of Interventional Cardiology and has attended many national and international professional conferences. He has 22 professional publications to his credit. He has special interest in interventional cardiology. His other areas of interest include medical statistics and research methodology.
